More about ELMO

Meet our sweet Lurcher boy Elmo!

Elmo came to Battersea via another rescue, so we have no history on him in a home. The previous rescue noted that Elmo is a very sweet, friendly, affectionate boy and we have seen the same onsite. He adores people, loves a fuss and doesn't stop wagging his tail!

Elmo generally likes other dogs and can be quite social and will often greet nicely. Typical of his breed type, he has chased and has also told off other over-the-top dogs. As we do not know if Elmo has ever shared his space with another dog, and he can be a little intolerant of dogs that are being too much for him, we feel at this time he is best suited to being the only dog in the home, and not having to share all the love and attention.

Elmo is looking for a home with owners who have some experience of his breed, or who are willing to research the breed type. He will need his own private secure garden and could possibly live with sensible teenagers, who can play a part in his daily training and maintenance.

Due to some chase behaviours we've seen on site and in his current foster home, Elmo would need a home free of small animals.

Elmo is the loveliest of lads with a very sweet nature. While he will require a home willing to put in some training, he will be well worth it. He loves people and just wants fuss all the time, he gets super excited to see everyone, and is such a goofy dog, he will make you laugh with his antics. He is loved by all his carers, and we are sure his new owners will feel the same way.

Can you give Elmo the loving home he deserves? If so, please contact the team at rehoming@battersea.org.uk.

If you have not yet registered to rehome, please do so on our website here: https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehoming, before contacting us.

Please note: due to the large volume of enquiries we receive, we may only be able to respond to homes that we feel best meet the needs of the dog.
