Series 2 on ITV1 from Tuesday 1st April

Filmed this year, our staff and volunteers loved working on the series with Alison, and we know that it will bring lots of joy and laughter to viewers.

EPISODE 4, TUESDAY 22 APRIL, 8:30PM, ITV

In tonight’s instalment of For the Love of Dogs, Alison meets a litter of eight Cockapoo puppies who have come into Battersea after being found abandoned in a cardboard box with their mum. These young pooches have had a tough start in life and need some help getting used to the world around them so they can grow into happy dogs. Luckily, Alison and the team have got a special plan up their sleeves to help introduce these pups to some new friends.

Alison also befriends gentle giant Minnie, a three-year-old Kangal. Battersea staff are worried that Minnie might be underweight and as she is scared of walking onto weighing scales, Alison will need to help Minnie conquer her fears before she finds a new home.

Finally, Alison meets Buddy, a 10-year-old old Bichon Frise who is struggling to adapt to kennel life and is in need of some cheering up. Perhaps Alison can give this older gentleman a kennel makeover to help him feel right at home.

EPISODE 3, TUESDAY 15 APRIL, 8:30PM, ITV

In the third instalment of For the Love of Dogs, Alison meets six-year-old Shar Pei Tina. Battersea's expert vet team are concerned as this poor girl is experiencing all manner of health issues associated with her breed, including a serious case of entropion which is where a dog’s eyelids fold inwards, reducing their sight and causing painful irritation. Tina is going to need a major operation, and Alison will have to use all her charm to keep this brave girl’s spirits up during her long road to recovery.

Next up, Alison is hit with a bout of puppy love as she meets Amber, Jade, and Onyx. These 5-week-old Jack Russell pups have come into Battersea through no fault of their own and need help getting use to the sights and sounds of a home environment. Alison has got her hair dryer and vacuum cleaner at the ready to safely build up a positive association with these household objects so these cute canines can live comfortably and happily when they find new homes.

Last but not least, Alison meets adorable canine companions Butter and Scotch, two besties who are such good friends they are struggling with separation anxiety whenever they have to spend some time apart. Perhaps Alison can find some food enrichment for this Pointer and Bracco Italiano duo, to help distract them and make them feel more comfortable when they are in their own company.

EPISODE 2, TUESDAY 8 APRIL, 8:30PM, ITV

This week on For the Love of Dogs, Alison has her work cut out as she helps Woody, a sprightly Spaniel pup, who staff think might have a chance to make it as a working dog for the Ministry of Defence. This sweet boy is going to need Alison’s help to keep his active mind focused with some special training, to help him channel his energetic ways.

Next up, Alison meets Rita, a 6-month-old Lurcher Cross, who is shy around new people and is also worried of noise. Alison is going to have to take things slow and steady to help show this nervous girl that the world isn’t such a scary place.

It’s not just the dogs that need that need love and support this week, as Alison also meets one-year-old cat, Mel, who has come into Battersea with multiple injuries that staff think may have been caused by a road accident. As Battersea’s expert veterinary team set to work giving Mel the vital treatment she needs, Alison is on hand to help this brave feline get some much-needed TLC whilst she recovers.

Poor Marble needs to undergo urgent surgery and she’s going to need Alison’s help to keep her spirits up every step of the way whilst she recovers in the care of Battersea’s veterinary team.

Alison is really going to have her work cut out to help this sprightly lad to learn some new manners when making friends.
