Tenacious Theo is a three year old large Alaskan Malamute. He is double the size of feisty little Fudge, a two year old Jack Russell Terrier. These two abandoned dogs have struck up a pawsitively beautiful bromance. They’ve bonded in their endless quest to find new homes.
Theo arrived as a stray over 500 days ago. Fudge was brought to us over 400 days ago because his owners could no longer cope looking after him. They reside in the kennels next to each other at Brands Hatch, keeping one another company and having playtime in the paddocks every day. They love nothing better than a spot of doubles tennis. These countryside canines love the great outdoors and their friendship has blossomed in the lush fields. They patiently wait to find their perfect match and be given a second chance at life.
Michelle Bevan, Rehoming and Welfare Manager of Battersea Brands Hatch, said: “We love all 500 of our canine residents who arrive at our centre every year. However, there is something really special about Theo and Fudge. We absolutely adore the bond they have built up together. They have completely won over all the staff here who have spent lots of time caring, training and getting to know their fantastic characters.
“New owners for our two Battersea boys ideally need experience of their breeds. They should be willing to invest extra time and effort to help the dogs reach their full potential as wonderful pets.
“There is no time limit on how long a dog or cat can spend looking for a new home at Battersea. However, Theo and Fudge have been at the centre more than 13 times longer than the average stay for a dog. So we really hope the right homes come up for them soon. Whether it be a home together so they can continue their Battersea bromance or in separate loving homes.”
