Reputation, Folklore, Evermore and Midnights arrived at Battersea’s London centre last winter. Our staff settled them into a foster home with carer, Cat, over Christmas. This provided them with a calm, stable environment where they could grow with all the sounds, smells and activity associated with a normal household, helping them to develop into well-rounded cats.
While everyone else was being woken by excited children, ready to open presents, I had excitable kittens. The minute I called good morning, they were up the stairs and onto the bed! The kittens chased each other through empty boxes, gift bags and skated round the wooden floor on shiny wrapping paper. No one climbed the tree, but much fun was had with dangling strings of silver beads and the huge unbreakable baubles I’d hung on the lower branches. Kittens being kittens, they burned themselves out after an hour or so of play, and then we all retired to the sofa, to snuggle up together and watch Elf on the TV.
