A sweet four-year-old Lurcher called Wilson is looking for a loving home to call his own after spending over six months in the care of leading animal welfare charity, Battersea.
Wilson arrived at Battersea’s Old Windsor centre after being found as a stray in the local area and, on his arrival, the charity’s experts quickly set out to find him a new family. However, after being in Battersea’s care for over 180 days, the charming Lurcher is still waiting for a home to call his own.
Described as a gentle and happy character by Battersea’s dedicated staff, Wilson loves nothing more than spending time having a fuss with his favourite people. He has also begun to show his playful side while in the charity’s care and enjoys gathering up an impressive collection of toys in his bed to snuggle up with after a day of fun and games.
Wilson is a big foodie and loves being challenged with food toys like slow feeders, snuffle mats and puzzles. Food has been an ideal tool to help with his training during his stay at Battersea and he will need committed owners who can continue supporting his hard work to help him build his confidence.
While Wilson can struggle with being on his own, he has made good progress and is learning to spend short periods of time alone. He hopes to find a new family who can keep him company and help him settle into the home environment at his own pace.
Zenya Green, Team Leader for Dog Rehoming at Battersea’s Old Windsor centre, said: “Wilson always has a smile on his face and loves to interact with his human friends, he has such a fun personality and never fails to make all of the staff at Battersea smile. He is also a huge hit with our dedicated volunteers and can often be found getting lots of fuss from them in his kennel. The person who gives Wilson his new home will be sure to have a friend for life.”
Wilson will need a private garden and would prefer to be the only dog in the home.
