More about ALINA

Alina is sensitive dog looking for a quiet home where she can mature and find her feet. Alina is based at our Old Windsor centre, if you are interested in her please email bow.rehomers@battersea.org.uk.

Alina is a Romanian Mioritic Shepherd, which is traditionally a livestock guardian breed. She is a very intelligent loyal dog that will need owners that will be dedicated to her training while adjusting to a new home. The breed is used to an outdoors lifestyle and having lots of range so they do need plenty of things to keep them occupied at home and can sometimes find their own amusement if bored.

As you may be able to see, Alina has had a very recent groom. She has kept her lovely ears and tail, but the rest is very short to make her comfortable. She naturally has a long, double coat and she will need regular grooming and maintenance, new owners will need to be committed for this potentially daily task.

Alina has had very limited exposure to the world and easily worried and overwhelmed. A home in a quieter area where she can adjust to new things slowly and build her confidence would be the best fit. Alina is looking for owners with experience owning larger breed dogs that can help her settle to home life.

She still has a bit of growing to do only being 7 months and now 24kg. Her adult weight could reach to 45kg, new owners will need to feel comfortable handling a large dog. She is looking for a home with her own private secure garden where she can stretch her legs every day and be a great tool for training.

Once you know Alina, she shows her playful fun side and she is very much a puppy in some ways. She has such a character and has a lot more to show, Alina will be a rewarding companion for new family.
