More about BAXTER

Baxter is a big-hearted dog who is based at Battersea Old Windsor and is looking for his forever home.

Baxter is an affectionate, playful and fun-loving young dog who thrives on human companionship. He adores his toys, enjoys a good game and, after a busy day, loves to cuddle up with his favourite people. Despite his size, he has a soft and loving nature and is eager to please.

As a strong and energetic adolescent, Baxter is looking for experienced owners who can provide the structure and training he needs to reach his full potential. He can be very strong on lead, especially when excited, so his new owners will need confidence in managing a strong dog.

He is currently working on his loose lead walking and impulse control around other dogs and people. Whilst he is improving, his training must be continued in his new home to help him stay calm and focused. He is highly food-motivated, which helps with his training. He also loves interactive toys like food puzzles and Kongs.

He knows some basic commands such as sit, paw and down and is housetrained. Because he is still in his adolescent phase, he will require committed owners who understand the challenges of this stage and can provide consistent, positive training in order that he matures into a well-mannered adult dog.

Baxter will be a training project for the foreseeable future; however he has lots of personality and potential.
