More about IAN
Meet our sweet boy Ian!
Ian came to us from another rescue along with his litter mates, where he was described as a friendly and relaxed boy, being a playful lad with his siblings. We believe Ian is a Lurcher X Belgian Shepherd which is a breed that is high energy and requires plenty of mental and physical outlets for their energy and behaviours. Although currently small, he is likely to grow into a large dog.
With us, we have seen the same friendly lad, who can be a little worried of new people, sights and surroundings, but is gaining confidence everyday! When he does make friends, he can be quite an excitable boy and forget to keep all 4 paws on the floor.
He is also not the most confident with other dogs, but does try to be a brave boy and say hello and that confidence has grown when out and about in the wider world with other dogs so he could live with a tolerant and confident role model dog that is the right match for him.
New owners will need to be patient with him while he makes friends and will be able to provide him with the time and care a young boy like him requires in order to grow into a confident, social and happy dog. New owners should have realistic expectations when it comes to taking on a puppy, being committed to all the required attention, training and socialisation that comes with it whilst the puppy adjusts to life in their new home.
We would advise that Ian attends puppy socialisation classes with his new owners, to help shape him into a well-rounded adult. He is sure to be the loveliest boy in any home lucky enough to have him!
