More about RALPH
Ralph is a spirited lively Terrier who enjoys digging in sandpits and sniffing the environment. He loves calm strokes and fuss from people he knows.
Ralph would make a terrific addition to a committed home looking for a project and are happy to do lots of training and stimulation with him.
In his previous home Ralph would bark at new people and the postman that entered his personal space, so he has been working on some training to manage this. He will benefit from new owners that have the time and experience of working with a high energy reactive dog.
Ralph has made friends quickly with staff here at Old Windsor but will need ongoing management and training around this in his new home.
Ralph has a history of walking well on lead and has no issues on roads or open spaces. He has on occasions barked at cyclists, so new owners need to bear this in mind when walking him along narrow paths.
Ralph would benefit from living with more than one person due to struggling when being left alone. He can get stressed and has barked when people leave him. He has been working on a “go to bed” command to help him settle, which new owners can continue in his new home. He will need his time alone build up very gradually.
Ralph was house trained in his previous home but may have some accidents when settling in. Ralph knows a down and sit and will need some training with his recall, as he was not let off lead in his previous home. He is a bright dog who enjoys learning. Ralph will be a rewarding training project for the true Terrier enthusiast.
