More about RUDI

Introducing our fabulous Rudi, a rather petite Dogue de Bordeaux (for his breed at least!) with a heart of gold and a sensitive side.

Rudi came to us as a stray, but we later learnt that he had at one point lived in a home environment. He is impeccably house trained in his kennel and has some lovely basics - he knows a 'SIT' and 'PAW' cue and has good recall as well. He loves his food so has the potential to learn much more basic obedience.

Rudi has got a worried side to him and when he first came into us, he took a few days to learn to trust us and was avoiding of any touch or stroking. We have seen that if we respect Rudi's space and throw him a tasty treat (or two!), he does want to make friends. Once he trusts someone, he is very loyal and loves to bounce around our paddocks and play tug of war with his rubber ring toys.

He has shown to be a steady boy with dogs and very respectful of smaller dogs. Rudi is looking for a new home with guardians who have experience of worried, larger breeds and who will respect his anxiety and give him space and time to settle into his new home and bond with them. He needs a home in a quieter location due to worry of traffic and busier areas and would love his very own garden to feel safe and secure in.

Given time and patience, this boy has shown he will flourish into a wonderful companion.
