More about Sonny Jim

Say a big hello to Jim!
This lovely boy is an ex- racer, so we don't have much history of him prior to him coming into our care, but has been absolutely delightful to look after on site. At first can be a little timid taking his time to get to know his people but once he has relaxed, he is full of personality and will become a bouncy and interactive boy. He has not lived with children, he is calm and gentle around people but can become excited so would be better to be around children aged 10+ who will give him space and interact with him when he is confident to do so.

He has now been in a foster placement for some time, proving himself to be fully housetrained and his affectionate and playful side is starting to beam through! As with most ex-racers, Jim does have a chase drive and can become focused by movement, but has also been able to go into nice parallel walks with other dogs and has met a range of different types whilst on foster. Due to his chase behaviours, we are advising Jim is kept on lead and muzzled in public places but he is fully accustomed to this and wears his muzzle beautifully!

Jim will need a new home that can offer him plenty of cuddles and attention, as well as being able to slowly settle him into a routine and continue to introduce him to normal home life as his foster carers have been doing so far. Jim is looking for a new home with a private, secure garden with a high fence where he can have some time to freely run without wearing his muzzle. He should be fine to live with one carer if leaving hours are low, Sonny Jim can be selective with regards to his dog friends, we have seen that he enjoys being around other greyhounds and therefore would consider a home that includes similar sized breeds and would not be suited to live with small animals.
