More about STARK

Meet Splendid Stark!

Stark came to Battersea due to a change in his previous owners circumstances.

He is a Shar Pei cross pug and displays breed characteristics of both the breeds that make up his mix. Stark has a beautiful history in his previous home with all of his owners, children and other dogs. He is slightly worried with some aspects of formal handling and can be slightly worried of new people. Since coming to Battersea, Stark has shown to be the bestest boy but he does have a sensitive side to him and has found it tricky adapting to kennel life.

He has been friendly with all his known people and when introduced by known people or if unknown people go slowly Stark will warm up in no time at all. He had a few worried grumbles at the start of his stay but since then he has come on leaps and bounds, as long as he is introduced fairly slowly he will make friends with new people at his own pace.

He has been generally friendly with dogs but just isn't a fan of an overly animated furry friend. Stark does enjoy the company of other dogs if they aren't too pushy & give him time to get to now him, so owners should be prepared to socialise him with steady dogs.

Stark would benefit from owners with some experience with the breeds that make up his mix and who are willing to continue some training around separation anxiety and touch and treat or other positive reinforcement methods to help him make friends with new people. He is coming out of his shell more and more each day and slowly working his way into all of his care groups hearts.
