More about STELLA

Stella is a gentle dog with people she knows - it can take her time to feel comfortable and she has shown reactions to people she is unsure about, but once you have her trust she is charming and affectionate. Stella is based at our Old Windsor centre.

Stella is looking for a home where she will be given time and space to settle. She can get overwhelmed easily and this can cause her to bark at people, and so a calm, quiet and predictable home would be best for her. Her owners will need previous experience of nervous dogs who are reactive, and who are able to successfully manage and help Stella with this.

She is really playful with toys and particularly likes tennis balls, but food is a big hit with her too. In her previous home she was housetrained and travelled well in the car and has some good basic training in place already. She adores attention from people she trusts and will rub her body on your legs, a bit like a cat, when she wants some fuss.

With dogs, Stella is mostly independent and likes her space, and is looking to live as the only pet in her home. She has a high chase drive with wildlife so is not able to live with small pets, and she will likely need to be kept on lead on her walks as her recall is not reliable when she wants to chase something.

We have put some great training in place to help Stella make good choices when faced with people she does not know, and she has proven to be responsive and rewarding to train. She will need her new owners to want to carry on this training at home as it does help her.

Stella has alot to bring to her new home and, in a home that suits her needs, we feel she'll settle again and be a loyal companion.
