More about TREVOR
Trevor is a very special dog, looking for a very special home. We are aware that Trevor experienced some trauma before arriving as a stray at Battersea Old Windsor. Consequently, he is very worried by men and is therefore looking for an experienced, female-only home with minimal/no male regular visitors. Whilst Trevor has shown that he can make friends with men, this is a very slow process that can go backwards. Overall, he is much happier in the company of women so will be more relaxed and responsive to training undertaken by female owners.
Trevor has come such a long way since arriving at Battersea Old Windsor, he has spent time in a temporary foster home where he came on leaps and bounds once settled. However, he will be a project dog and will need very kind, patient and caring owners that will accept him for what he is, give him all the space and time that he needs and commit to him completely.
Trevor loves other dogs and really comes out of his shell when with them. He could live with one or more existing dogs or if not living with, will really benefit from having regular dog friends to meet up with.
Although Trevor has mostly been too worried to play with toys, we have at times seen him with a soft toy in his mouth; once fully settled and bonded, his toy play is likely to increase. In the foster home, Trevor was house trained and learnt to accept the car isn’t a scary place.
When he is bonded with you, Trevor is very affectionate and goofy and has a lovely relationship with his handler. He loves to sit on human laps! Plenty of time, patience and care will need to be put into Trevor, but the reward of watching this worried lad come out of his shell and navigate a loving home that he so deserves will be the huge reward.
