More about UNO
Uno at Battersea Old Windsor is a bundle of joy, a comical dog with a heart full of love and a playful spirit. She doesn’t always realise her size, making her all the more charming. Uno adores time in gardens and paddocks, soaking up affection and curling up for snuggles, she’s even been known to snooze contentedly on laps. She has a goofy side too and will keep you entertained with her silly antics. Uno arrived as a stray, so we don’t know about her past, but she’s already shown us how much love she has to give.
Whilst she is full of fun, Uno also has a sensitive side and can become overwhelmed in certain situations. New thresholds, animated voices, vehicles or walking through new doorways can unsettle her. Meeting new people, especially some men, can also also worry her, however she is generally friendly and happy around most people. With patience, training and going slow, she has been making great progress.
Uno will thrive in a home with experienced and understanding owners who are happy to go at her pace and continue her training. Knowledge of overstimulated behaviours would be beneficial, though we are hoping that much of her stress is due to the kennel environment. She would prefer to be the only dog in the home for now, as she can be very playful and sometimes a little over the top in her play style.
She has been working on her lead walking and has shown improvement, although she may still jump up sometimes so will need owners to continue her training. Uno has made great strides during her time at Old Windsor and we know she has much more potential.
Uno isn’t looking for a home that is focused on long walks or intense exercise as she has some hip dysplasia, but she is bright and curious and loves to be kept mentally stimulated. She will thrive with fun enrichment games such as scent work, food puzzles and search games.
