Our frozen cat treats are easy to make, and a tasty treat for your cat on a hot summer’s day.
Not only will your cat love them, they are also a great way to help keep them cool on a hot day. Give these to your cat as an occasional treat, alongside a well-balanced diet. These are not suitable for cats with special dietary requirements.
INGREDIENTS
100g boneless tinned salmon, drained
1 small carrot
25g rolled oats
(makes 9-12 servings)
METHOD
- Peel and cut the carrot into small pieces, then boil in a saucepan of water for a few minutes until soft.
- Place the oats in a food processor and blend them into a flour. Alternatively, you can use ready-made oat flour.
- Add the salmon and carrot to the food processor and mix well.
- Spoon the mixture into an ice cube tray or a silicone mould. Freeze until set, ideally overnight.
- Once frozen, you can treat your cat! The frozen treats can be kept in a freezer for 2-3 months.
We recommend giving the treat to your cat outside (in a shaded area if it is a very hot day), in their bowl or on a floor which you can easily clean, so it doesn’t melt all over your floor!
