It’s true that Greyhounds love to run in short bursts, but they also love sleeping. Some Greyhounds are lazier than others, but short daily walks are usually enough to keep a Greyhound happy and fit. The rest of the time Greyhounds will happily sleep for hours, with the occasional break for eating, which makes them the perfect company for binge-watching your latest TV obsession. Despite this, Greyhounds will still appreciate you keeping their mind active by playing and interacting with them.

Many Greyhounds have spent their lives in kennels, that’s why they love nothing more than to cuddle up on a comfy sofa, bed, armchair, or even your lap. Greyhounds are affectionate and loving dogs and they will often lean against your legs to be closer to you as you stroke them and give them attention. As with all dogs though, and most humans, they still appreciate some time alone too.

When you submit the completed registration form, you’ll receive an automated response to confirm we’ve received it. Then we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and analytical tools to search for a potential match.
If we find a dog that might be a good fit, our rehoming team will get in touch with you personally to talk about it all in more detail. After that, if everyone agrees the dog is the right one for you, we’ll arrange for you to meet virtually. Then we’ll arrange a visit to a Battersea centre or we'll deliver your new dog to you – and we’ll give you lots of advice on helping your new companion to settle in.
