This is Hattie's story
Happy go lucky, friendly Hattie, a retired racing greyhound, arrived at Battersea from a greyhound rescue. She proved to be a very affectionate and loving dog and was always joyfully tap dancing with her paws, whenever she saw her favourite people.
Typical of a sighthound, Hattie’s chase drive was high so she needed an experienced new home who could continue with the valuable training she engaged in while at Battersea.
After fifty-four days in Battersea's care, playful Hattie caught the eye of her new owner Andrea. Hattie now enjoys daily walks in the park and has become a bit of a celebrity at the local, dog-friendly pub, where she charms humans and fellow canines alike.
Andrea, Hattie’s owner says:
“Hattie is doing wonderfully well. I love her so much and we are so lucky to have found each other at Battersea.
Hattie adores people. She is always so happy to meet new friends. Greyhounds are so adaptable, loving and easy going. Hattie has met some dogs on her walks, and she has a Labrador friend called Rosie who we sometimes walk with at the park. She is interested in flies and butterflies and sudden movements of birds, in keeping with being a sighthound. I do so adore her goofy playtime in the garden. She brings her toys out, loves to sit in the shady bit and then falls asleep.”
