Lively Jasper arrived at Battersea aged 3 months old when his owner was no longer able to care for him.
Though energetic and playful, like most puppies, Battersea staff soon noticed that little Jasper was walking on the tips of his front paws, and he appeared to have some issues with his joints.
Jasper was diagnosed with carpal hyperextension, which can be due to a developmental abnormality in young dogs. Battersea’s skilled vets set to work devising a treatment plan for him. He was prescribed a course of hydrotherapy and physiotherapy in Battersea’s own cutting-edge facilities and put on a nourishing diet to help him grow stronger.
Jasper responded brilliantly to his treatment and spent some time on foster preparing for a new home. Today he is a rambunctious, rapidly growing young dog, who is thriving and loved by his new family.
